Alexander Adamson – age 23 – Warrant Officer (1107737) 524 Squadron, Coastal Command, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.

Son of Alexander and Elizabeth Adamson of 5 Aitkenhead Road, Glasgow, S2.

Missing in Action on 14 February 1945.

Commonwealth War Grave – Runnymede Memorial, Surrey.

524 squadron flew Wellington bombers on night operations off the French coast in preparation for D-Day. After the Normandy Invasion the squadron moved to the east of England in a similar role along the Dutch coast. In February 1945 the squadron were at RAF Langham in Norfolk.
